Going backwards to leap frog mountains

How has the year gone for you so far? Are you killing it in terms of how much weight you have lost, how many kilometres you are now running, how many houses you have bought or how much your relationships have blossomed?

No matter who you talk to we all have dreams, goals and outcomes we want in our lives and you are no different are you? I label that dream or outcome as the WHAT. The next logical step is work out the HOW and whammo that goal or outcome will happen. Good in theory isn't it, so why isn't everyone achieving outcomes and goals every day of their lives. After all we have already determined that everyone has them.

Firstly I will say the majority don't plan to succeed which no matter how much you dream it won't happen. But most importantly you probably haven't bought the real reason WHY we want to achieve that goal to the surface and recognised it. If the driving force and the result of what you are going to have in your life as a result of achieving this goal isn't front of mind regularly the WHAT and the HOW become meaningless.

So my advice is don't worry about the WHAT and the HOW you are going to achieve these goals but more importantly unearth the WHY and see how powerful your desire becomes. Then the what and the how are not an issue any more because if the WHY is really from the soul the energy created from this will drive you to find any solution and motivation you need.

It isn't reverse engineering this concept but it is definitely going against what is normal everyday thinking in the world of setting goals. Get the goal, find out the steps to take to get it and you are there. I say go the other way and start at why you want a goal and don't stop asking till you get a compelling answer that takes your breath away. If you are having difficulty get support in this area.

Now you are living.

How are you pleasuring the G spot in your brain?

It all sounds a little bit X rated doesn’t it? Unfortunately after what I have to say here is far from it. In fact this is frightening stuff but I feel you need to be informed of this information and then you can choose your own course of action.

The brain – body link is becoming more evident but now and the evidence put forward by Paul Taylor a guru in the Fitness industry is highlighting just how closely linked that relationship between brain and body really is.

The G spot in our brain gets its reward or pleasure via serotonin and dopamine (hormones) which are also hugely responsible for motivation and behaviors. In past years when we were far more active our brains G spot was stimulated by this activity and nutrient dense high fibre foods that were consumed. What we are doing now is re routing these reward pathways by following the mob and moving less, eating more processed foods and introducing a lot more nuclear influences into our lives. By nuclear I mean food additives, added sugars, radiation, chronic stresses and stimulants to name a few.

In the process we are stressing ourselves more which introduces the stress hormone cortisol into our brain which coincidentally thrives on fatty and sugary foods. To highlight this how many times do you see highly stressed individuals eating celery and carrot sticks? It is always the chocolate, cakes, chips, ice-cream or even alcohol that is the choice for these people isn’t it.

Taking all of this into account it has been bought to our attention that we are creating addictive behaviors by behaving this way. In simple terms this occurs because now the brain gets its pleasure from sugar and fat which instigate great rushes of dopamine and serotonin instead of the way we are designed to regulate this hormonal response naturally. We are hard wiring obesity, depression and diabetes into our existence. Now here comes the scary part. If you think our generation is bad, our kids don’t stand much of a chance unless you make some wholesale changes.

You need to start eating a more natural, unprocessed diet for a start. You then would be well advised to double or triple the movement you are currently undertaking in your daily routine. We used to average 20,000 steps a day just 20 years ago but we now are lucky if we take 3000. And lastly remove chronic stress form your life. Stress is wonderful in small bursts but if left unmanaged it becomes dangerous.

I am sorry to sound so negative but this is information our Government needs to be putting out to the public. We are in trouble and unless we slow down and go back to basics in some areas of our lives we won’t have much of a life. Get your lifestyle in shape now and start inspiring your friends and family to follow.
